Sebastien Flute Evo Riser Review
Archery is a great sport with tons of upgrade paths such as a new riser. Now, there are different reasons why you want to purchase a new one. And, before purchasing one, you need to ask yourself some questions.
Do you want a riser that has a modern and sleek design? Are you looking for a solid performer with durable build quality? Do you need a riser with a smooth and responsive performance?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you might be interested in reading this Sebastien Flute Evo Riser Review. Here, I will share with you my honest and unbiased opinion about this 25-inch aluminum riser. It is a part of the new product line from Sebastian Flute, a renowned brand in the archery industry.
This time, I will evaluate its design, build quality, performance, and value for money, and tell you whether it is worth buying or not.
Before diving into the actual review, let me share with you some of the things that I was looking for in a new riser.
My very first consideration is it should be purple. Why? Because no one else in my club or other familiar clubs is using a purple riser. Next, is affordability. It should be around $350 or roughly 20,000php. Lastly, it should perform well, looks good, and is from a reputable brand.
With that out of the way, let’s get started.
Design
The first thing that caught my eye about this riser was its sleek and futuristic design. It has a smooth and curved shape with angles on the right spots. It looks very elegant and stylish.
The Sebastien Flute Evo riser also comes in a variety of colors, such as black, blue, red, dark gray, and gold, and luckily, it comes in purple. You can choose the one that suits your preference and personality.
This riser has a lot of bushings for attachments, such as two 5/16″ x 24 stabilizer bushings, dual burger holes for rests and plunger, and a clicker plate extension. This gives you a lot of options to customize your setup and optimize your performance.
The Sebastien Flute name on top is a little tacky for me as well as the Evo namesake at the bottom. It’s easy to ignore though so it is not a huge problem for me.
The colorway looks top-notch. Looking at the riser under different lighting conditions changes the color of it too. Sometimes it is deep purple and the if under tungsten light, the contrast between purple and orange looks stunning.

Build quality
The build quality of this riser is impressive. It is made of 6061 T6 aluminum, which is a strong and durable material that can withstand a lot of stress and pressure. The riser is CNC machined, which means it has a high level of precision and accuracy.
The riser feels well-balanced in the hand, not too heavy and not too light. It weighs 2.65 lbs (1200 g), which is a comfortable weight for most archers.
The only minor issue I had with the build quality was some slight imperfections in the paint finish, There are no scratches and bubbles but upon closer inspection, there are very few imperfections.. These were not very noticeable unless you looked very closely.
The max poundage I have used for this bow is 42 lbs and there were no signs of stress at all. I regularly shoot 34 lbs and it handles it smoothly.
Performance
The Sebastien Flute Evo riser’s performance is great. It has a medium-height ABS plastic grip that fits well in my hand and provides a good grip at stock. However, I did modify my grip to fit my shooting style more.
The riser features lateral limb adjustments for perfect limb alignment, which is very easy to use and adjust. There are included Allen wrenches for adjustments.
In addition, the riser also has a good amount of feedback for every shot, which I like. It does not feel dull or dead in the hand. There are some vibrations present, but they are not overboard or annoying. They add to the feel of the shot and let you know how well you executed it.
Using the bow is a joy, if I’m being honest. I prefer it over my old risers and I want it over the Win & Win Inno CXT. This is mainly due to the dull feedback of the Inno CXT.
Moreover, the Evo riser is easy to balance with stabilizers. I do not have to use multiple weights. All I need is 4 oz at the front and 2 oz at the side and I am good to go.
SF Evo Riser: Value for money
The value for money of this rise is excellent. It costs around $300 USD, which is a very reasonable price for a high-quality aluminum riser that has all the features an intermediate archer needs to succeed.
The Evo is comparable to some higher-end risers that cost much more, but without sacrificing any quality or performance. It is definitely worth investing in this riser if you are looking for an upgrade or a new challenge.
Compared to the Win & Win Inno CXT carbon riser, which is a previous top-end model, the SF Evo riser can compete when it comes to performance. Besides the extra weight, you are not losing that much going for the Evo compared to the other models.
Sebastien Flute Evo Riser Review: Final Thoughts
The Sebastien Flute Evo Recurve Riser is a fantastic recurve riser that offers a lot of benefits to intermediate archers who want to improve their skills and results. It has a stunning design, superb build quality, great performance, and excellent value for money.
This is one of the best risers I have ever used and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in recurve archery.
That’s it for my Sebastien Flute Evo riser review. I hope it helps you in your purchase decision. Have fun shooting!
