Bicaster ASA Finger Tab Review

The Bicaster ASA finger tab is a popular Olympic recurve tab due to its affordable price and great quality. One reason why a lot of archers use this is its availability on major online shopping platforms such as Lazada, Shopee, and Amazon. But, how does it perform?

Here’s my Bicaster ASA finger tab review. I’ll be sharing my honest thoughts about this affordable finger tab including what I want and what I do not want about it.

Let’s get started.

Design

The Bicaster ASA finger tab takes its design cues from the Fivics Saker tabs with a pointed aluminum plate. It also includes an aluminum shelf and a pinky rest.

The aluminum shelf has a lot of adjustment options so you can use it as an anchor pad or a thumb rest, depending on your shooting style. The pinky rest also has several mounting options so you can choose which one is the comfiest to use.

In addition, the plate has rounded corners and is not a pain to use. There are other tabs out there with an angled plate that is painful to the hand. I’m glad that Bicaster opted for a rounded design.

Moreover, it has a thick finger spacer with a rubberized texture. It is too thick for my liking so I had to replace mine with a spacer from another tab.

Lastly, the straps are comfortable and secure to use.

The only thing I did recently was to change the finger spacer to a Shibuya Apex finger tab one. Other than that, it is all good.

Leather Quality

Bicaster claims that the leather used is “genuine leather”. There are no specifics on what type of leather was used but, it is most likely made of cowhide and not cordovan.

The felt layer feels great. It is also cut larger to make space for the fingers when curled, unlike other finger tabs.

The finger tab serves its purpose of protecting the fingers and it did not impede my shooting form. This is mainly due to the right sizing out of the box. Their sizing guide is accurate so I had no problems shooting with it after.

Durabilty-wise, I’ve been using this finger tab for close to 1000 arrows already and the wear and tear is acceptable. The leather is not peeling yet. There are small cracks on the part where it touches the string but I do not consider it a glaring problem (yet).

Bicaster ASA Finger Tab Review: Final Thoughts

The Bicaster ASA Finger Tab is a no-frills tab that is perfect for beginners and intermediate archers. Longevity might be questionable since it is not cordovan leather but, for its price, it is not worth complaining about.

In addition, the aluminum plate is fully customizable with an anchor shelf, pinky rest, and finger spacer included. It has everything an archer needs to set t up including Allen wrenches.

This finger tab is available on Lazada. I got mine for less than 700php (12.55 USD). Get yours right here!
